The fact that you showed such interest in my story and
made many suggestions for it was immensely beneficial for me. I feel I've really moved from not really believing I could
write the book to seeing it as a definite possibility.

Superb workshop and great people in attendance!

The workshop was great. The low-ratio participation was good. I wasn't expecting to learn so much about
writing. I had never given much consideration to aspects of writing such as character-driven vs plot-driven or incorporating
sensory experiences into writing.

I spent 17 years of my 34 year teaching career in administration. My responsibilities included
teacher evaluation and program delivery. I give you high marks on both and that's a professional opinion.

The course really gave me an opportunity to focus on my story and get back
on track with it. I particularly liked getting your insights on various aspects of my writing samples. Your comments
were constructive and thoughtful (and often terribly diplomatic!).

My debut novel, Saint Gracious, would most likely not have been completed without Paul Butler's
enthusiasm, creative editing and considerable help. His insightful and encouraging comments were invaluable. Paul did
a wonderful job of editing, pointing out inconsistencies, and mentoring my work throughout the development of Saint Gracious.

I particularly liked the exercise of identifying key scenes. I have tended
to write from the beginning to the end. By focusing on key scenes, I’ve realized I can work on a scene that
inspires me when I’m losing traction and that will put me back on track. I also found your insights very helpful,
not only as pertains to my style, but also in the manner in which the story develops. I’m more aware of inconsistencies
and how to resolve them.
